Schloss Wernigerode

The HARZKRISTALL glass manufactory in Derenburg combines experience, adventure, relaxation, fun and culinary enjoyment in one place. In one of the last active glassworks in Germany, we provide exciting insights into manual glass production. On our “ManufaktOur” EXPERIENCE tour, you can experience glass with all your senses.
During your visit, you will learn all about the creation and processing of glass as a raw material and accompany our glassmakers and glassblowers up close in the production of hand-blown glass products. Various creative activities offer you the unique opportunity to work with glass yourself.
As part of the Gerhard Bürger Foundation, we are thus preserving the traditional craft of glassmaking and our production site in Derenburg.

Brocken
At 1141.2 m above sea level, the Brocken is the highest mountain in the Harz low mountain range, in Saxony-Anhalt and in the whole of northern Germany. It is located in the Schierke district of the town of Wernigerode in the Harz district. Zusätzlich wird die Brücke mit 2 Stabilisierungsseilen in Form—und bei höheren Windgeschwindigkeiten—in Position gehalten. Der Laufsteg (Gitterrost) von 120 cm Breite wird auf ganzer Länge von einem 130 cm hohen Geländer gesäumt und ist seitlich durch Edelstahlnetze verschlossen.

Durch diese Konstruktionsweise ist es für jeden Gast möglich, dieses einmalige Bauwerk ohne weitere Sicherheitsausrüstung zu begehen. Festes Schuhwerk und ein bisschen Mut reichen aus, um ein ganz besonderes Abenteuer in 100 Metern Höhe zu erleben. Nur von Luft, ein wenig Stahl und atemberaubender Natur umgeben ist das Rappbodetal aus einer einzigartigen Perspektive zu sehen. Auch in den Dämmerungsstunden lohnt sich ein Besuch, denn eine dezente Brückenbeleuchtung gewährleistet auch nach Sonnenuntergang eine sichere Überquerung.

Direkt unterhalb der Hängeseilbrücke befindet sich ein weiteres Erlebnis der Extraklasse. Der „GigaSwing“ ist der spektakulärste Pendelsprung Europas. Allein oder im Tandem, stürzen sich die mutigsten aller Harzbesucher in die Tiefe. Nach einem exklusiven Freifallerlebnis schwingen die Gäste gemächlich aus, bevor sie dann wieder zurück auf die Plattform gezogen werden.
Rübeländer Höhlen
Die älteste Schauhöhle Deutschlands
Markenzeichen der Baumannshöhle ist der besondere Reichtum an einzigartigen und unterschiedlichen Tropfsteinformationen und -gebilden. Sie werden bei einer ca. 50-minütigen Führung über rund 300 Treppenstufen entlang des Führungsweges tief hinein in die Harzer Berge gegleitet. Dort erfahren Sie dann alles Wissenswerte rund um die Baumannshöhle, ihre Tropfsteine und die Höhlenbewohner.
Entdeckt wurde die Höhle bereits im 16. Jahrhundert durch den Bergmann Friedrich Baumann, damals jedoch eher zufällig. Seit 1646 finden seither organisierte Führungen durch die Höhle statt.
Der wohl bekannteste Besucher dieser einzigartigen Tropfsteinhöhle ist und bleibt Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Er besuchte die Höhle gleich mehrfach und ist Namensgeber des größten Hohlraumes im Inneren der Baumannshöhle, dem Goethesaal.
Auf der wunderschönen unterirdischen Naturbühne im Goethesaal, finden inmitten der traumhaften Tropfsteinkulisse u.a. Theaterveranstaltungen und Konzerte statt.
